WTF is dark pattern design? — Have you ever thought that the app you were playing with or the website you were visiting was designed by a meth-addicted ape? Maybe the buttons are in the wrong place or they’re reversed from normal (or from another location in the app) or escape sequences are difficult to find or execute…or there’s no escape sequence at all. Ever felt that way? Yeah… Number 1, you’re not alone. Number 2, that “meth-addicted ape” assumption was WAY off base. This kind of stuff is done deliberately to keep you within the app or website.
