Google Review Email Templates

We often get asked the question “How do I get more Google reviews for my business?”. The answer is simple: Ask for them!

We’ve covered the topic of Google reviews quite extensively on our blog. We have articles on how to get more Google reviews, the importance of online reviews, and even how specific professions like accountants, dentists and HVAC companies can get more Google reviews. This article is designed to provide you with some simple templates for improving your chances of getting more Google reviews.

Many of these email templates can be used with the help of a mail merge, where you link data from a spreadsheet software (like Excel) to a word editing software (like Word). However if you only manage a handful of customers per month, personalizing each of your Google review email requests will be much more effective. Use these templates as a starting point to create your own template that is best suited for your business type and the interests of your customers.

Create a link to your Google review page

First things first, you want to make it as easy as possible for your customers to review your business. Providing them with a link that takes them directly to your business profile on Google will generate far more reviews than simply asking the customer to “Google us”.

Here’s how you do it:

  • Step 1: Go to Google My Business and access your business profile.
  • Step 2: On the Home tab, navigate to the “Get more reviews” section.
  • Step 3: Click the “Share review form” button and copy the link provided to your email template.

Including information about you mission statement, company values, or workplace culture can help convince a customer to leave you a review. Instead of relying on the same template over and over again, try to personalize your Google review templates as much as you can. It establishes a connection with the customer, encourages them to read the whole email, and increases the chance that they’ll not only write a positive review but write a detailed review – which is something that Google loves.

Establish consistency

The most important part of establishing a system for getting Google reviews is to stick to that system. Many business owners rack up a few Google reviews, call it good, and stop requesting customers to review them. Google needs to know that your business is constantly generating business activity. If you can show to Google that you are fulfilling a large number of services for happy customers, they will be happy to refer more business your way.
