The PPC Nightmare...Bel Mechanical

Okay, this will be a quick one today.  I couldn't help but point this out as possibly the worst example of a PPC campaign I've ever seen.  Someone deserves a serious talking to for this one...

Did a Google search (no I'm not mean enough to tell you what the term is) and found their listing.  Hadn't seen the ad before so I figured I'd click and take a look around.

Click me! We're wasting money!

Click me! We're wasting money!

The ad itself doesn't really have anything wrong with it (unless you have a thing for grammar or proper use of capitalization)...but it's what happens next that this becomes embarrassing.  Check out where the ad takes you:

Welcome to our website! Wait a minute...

Welcome to our website! Wait a minute...

Yup.  That's not a website.  But just for giggles, let's click on the suggested link from Google, shall we?

Oh, here we are!

Oh, here we are!

Wait a minute, it's a live web page!  What's that you say?  Oh, we're still a click away from where the website actually lives.  Let's just click on the above link and then we should be all set, right?

This feels very familiar...

This feels very familiar...

Wow.  Someone somewhere got paid to do this, and this campaign is STILL live.  It's moments like these that I understand when disconnected decision makers get fed up with online marketing and look at the whole industry as a sham.  This is just inexcusable ineptitude...and I thought I'd share because it's still a little amusing...in the tragic sense.
