STUDY: The Correlation of Exact Match Anchor Text Links With Rankings Across 16,000 Keywords — Anchor text still matters. That’s the biggest takeaway from Ahref’s study on correlation between exact and partial anchor text links and SERP position. There are many unanswered questions like, how much anchor text matters, differences between branded and non-branded keywords, and the degree to which you should try to play with fire and influence link anchor text before getting burned by Google. Still a very interesting and reliable study.
