Netvantage Marketing looks back on its first two years of business

May 12th, 2010

It began with a business plan on a paper napkin. Joe Ford and Adam Henige witnessed the birth of Netvantage Marketing while dining in Downtown Lansing, and are now celebrating the culmination of its second successful year.

Both Michigan State University graduates, the two met while Henige pursued his MBA and Ford worked in the Admissions Office at MSU and later worked together as consultants in Lansing. They developed an idea of a company that focused on one core internet consulting competency, as opposed to a broad range of services. Looking to establish the company as a leader in search marketing, their ideas and plans were the beginning of Netvantage Marketing.

“It is hard to believe how far we have grown in just two years, we feel very fortunate to have fared so well given the overall economic climate we have all been faced with,” said Henige.

Netvantage Marketing first opened in Okemos, but relocated to a new office in East Lansing to accommodate their growing staff in January 2009. Netvantage officially incorporated in March 2008 and was operational by May 12, 2008. Their main goal is to drive targeted traffic to clients’ websites, positioning them at the top of search listings for the products and services their clients offer. In addition to serving their clientele, Ford and Henige also work to educate other companies and individuals about search engine optimization by conducting seminars and speaking engagements across Michigan.

Ford and Henige were recently nominated and won the Emerging Entrepreneurs Category at the Greater Lansing Business Monthly’s 2010 Entrepreneurial Awards. Netvantage experienced 330% growth in revenue from year one to year two, adding clients such as DTE Energy, Michigan State University, University of California Berkeley, Greenstone Farm Credit Services, Michigan Education Association, and Brunswick Bowling. Additionally, the Netvantage staff has expanded to 6 employees.

Says Ford, “It has been a great two years, we have been able to work with some wonderful clients. It has been a lot of fun to work with all different types of businesses, both in Michigan and across the country.”

Checkout the link here and see if you’re smarter than an pro football player. When you’re done you can get a cool looking badge and add it to your own site – we beat former Michigan quarterback Drew Henson. Because
